No Supreme Court Justice may serve on the Supreme Court for more than 13 years total in her/his lifetime. No President may appoint more than a total of 2 Supreme Court Justice during her/his entire Presidency which may include multiple and/or non-consecutive terms. If a 3rd or subsequnt vacancy occurs during which a President may no longer appoint a Justice, subsequent Justices will be chosen by a simple majority of the House of Representatives. Vacancies shall be filled with-in 45 days of the vacancy though the vacancy may be filled at anytime after the vacancy occurs. When the President appoints a Supreme Court Justice said appointment will not be valid until the Senate, by majority vote, approves. The House of Representatives may veto said appointment by a majority vote. Any existing Supreme Court Justice who has served 15 years shall immediately resign and the selection of Justices needing to fill the vacancies shall be according to this amendment, though the prohibition of the total number of Justices a President may appointment shall continue to be limited to two. As each now existing Justice reaches 15 years on the Court, the appointment to fill vacancies shall follow the manner set forth in this Amendment.
Excellent proposal
Like it.
This is a reasonable and very well written proposal. Great work!
To limit terms for Justices and limit the number of Justices a President may appoint.
